or more than 25 years, Eric Rose has concentrated his practice in the global aspects of business development, specifically including mergers, acquisitions, privatizations, technology transfers, antitrust counseling, and domestic and international commercial transactions. Mr. Rose has served in several senior in-house counsel positions at leading companies such as American Standard, Tyco Toys, and John Deere. Since 2003, he has been in private practice, representing mid-tier domestic and international equipment manufacturers in the defense, natural resources, and service industries. Mr. Rose has led M&A and other complex transactions in the U.S. and more than two dozen countries on five continents. He advised the entry of American Standard in Myanmar in the 1990s, and has led the first American law office in that country since 2013. Mr. Rose is member of AMCHAM Myanmar Chapter’s Executive Committee, and heads its HR Committee. Mr. Rose, together with an exceptional group of HRMR attorneys, regularly advises U.S. and other international clients on the intricacies of investing in Myanmar, provides unique government access, as well as supervises complex litigation matters in Myanmar and elsewhere. For example, he has advised clients in diverse legal and investment matters in Myanmar, including a major U.S. investor in a potential $150 million Myanmar real-estate investment, the leading Thai pharmaceutical company in forming its new JV in Myanmar, a major consumer company in trademark registrations and litigation, a mid-tier, privately held, U.S. engineering and oil/gas equipment manufacturer’s Myanmar investment strategy, as well as successfully defending the rights of vessel owners whose ships were damaged and injured American passengers in a Myanmar airline crash.
