BIOGRAPHY
Alex Ibrahim is Vice President and Regional Head of Latin America, Bermuda, and the Caribbean for the Global Corporate Client Group of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
Mr. Ibrahim manages the exchange’s relationship with more than 150 companies based in Latin America, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. He is also responsible for the exchange’s relationship with other exchanges, as well as those with the investment banking, private equity, venture capital, and legal communities throughout these regions in order to attract new listings for the various NYSE Global Platforms.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Ibrahim had served as mana-ging director of Latin America for the Global Corporate Client Group of NYSE since 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Ibrahim served as a director for the International Client Services department of the NYSE, covering Latin America, Portugal, and Spain. Mr. Ibrahim, a Brazilian native, joined the NYSE in the fall of 1999 and was promoted to his current position in 2011.
Mr. Ibrahim began his career in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the marketing department of a multinational consulting corporation. Mr. Ibrahim later worked in the U.S. operation of the same organization. In the United States he developed, evaluated, and assisted in executing strategic partnership, agreements, alliances, and joint ventures in the U.S. and Brazilian markets.
Mr. Ibrahim serves as a board member of the Brazilian-Ameri-can Chamber of Commerce and the North American-Chilean Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Ibrahim holds a BS degree in marketing and international trade and an MBA degree from the Zicklin School of Business in New York. He also attended the school of engineering at Universidade Gama Filho in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mr. Ibrahim is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
