BIOGRAPHY
Keith Rabin serves as president of New York-based KWR International, Inc. and Singapore-based KWR International (Asia) Pte., Ltd, (KWR); managing an Asia-focused consulting and business development practice specializing in the delivery of research, communications and advisory services with an emphasis on investment and trade development; economic, policy and industry analysis; public/investor relations, cross border transactions, business strategy and market entry programs. Wide sectoral experience includes energy and alternative energy, natural resources and agriculture, environment, infrastructure, technology, telecom, consumer and industrial products, tourism, defense, real estate, autos, macroeconomic policy and investment, trade and export services.
Mr. Rabin is a recognized Myanmar expert, having maintained a multi-decade relationship with the country since the early 1980s when he managed a global trading company that focused on the development of Myanmar-related trade and investment. More recently, Mr. Rabin served as lead author of a book titled “Business and Investment Opportunities in the ‘New’ Myanmar” which is now in its second edition. He has also been managing a long-term project for the University of Tokyo and Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) to evaluate Myanmar’s electrification needs and to facilitate the development of a national integrated energy strategy. Mr. Rabin has also been responsible for numerous additional research, due diligence and business development initiatives including a soon-to-be released Myanmar Banking and Financial Sector profile.
Mr. Rabin also has extensive experience managing engagements for the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the USA, Korea Securities Dealers Association (KSDA), Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), Korea Legislative Research Institute, Province of the Riau Islands and Batam Industrial Development Authority (Indonesia), Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, CMP Media/EE Times, Columbia University and numerous foreign and local governments and business associations. Corporate clients have included several major financial institutions, consumer- and industrial-oriented multinationals, law firms and public relations, insurance and distribution companies; asset management and professional service firms; philanthropic foundations, as well as start-ups, turnarounds and venture/technology-oriented companies. Mr. Rabin was also responsible for developing alliances between KWR and the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) and Nippon Export Investment Insurance and another with Credit Suisse First Boston Data & Analytics, LLC.
Mr. Rabin holds a masters degree in international business from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelors degree in Anthropology from the State University of New York at Albany. Mr. Rabin has extensive field experience in East, Southeast and South Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
