BIOGRAPHY
Michael Forhan has spent much of his life working in the international arena. In 1994, he successfully established the first western-managed incoming travel company in Myanmar, EPG Travel Co. Ltd. Prior to his time in Myanmar, Forhan had built a career for himself in the international educational travel industry. In 1999, he traveled to the Thai-Myanmar border, where he became aware of the enormous needs of Burmese refugees and migrant workers living along the border. This inspired Forhan to enlist the support of several Boston-area trauma therapists to establish Burma Border Projects, Inc. (BBP), in May 2000 as a tax-exempt charitable organization. BBP provides a wide range of humanitarian services for the people of Myanmar. At the time of assuming the role of executive director of BBP, Forhan was director of special projects in the northeast United States and in Asia for NASA’s Center for Technology Commercialization in Westborough, Massachusetts. He presently serves as president of EPG America, the U.S. headquarters for the Yangon-based travel company.

EPG travel co. ltd.
EPG Travel Company Ltd. has been successfully introducing discerning travelers from all over the world to Myanmar for two decades. More than its extensive experience, it is EPG’s commitment to giving something back to the Burmese people that sets it apart from other tour operators in the country. EPG converts its long-held and sincere belief in corporate social responsibility into directaction by donating 2% of all revenues to its sister organization, Burma Border Projects (BBP), an American nonprofit Foundation that is based along the Thailand-Burma border. For 15 years, BBP has provided a wide range of humanitarian services to the many displaced people from Myanmar, focusing on the area of mental health and addressing the extensive psychosocial needs of children and adolescents.
