BIOGRAPHY
Mitsuo Ido is the Chief Representative for Myanmar of Mitsubishi Corporation.
He has been assigned as a General Manager for MC Yangon Branch since January, 2012, when the New Government was established and opened up its borders to the international community with the goal of entering the international society by expanding its market to foreign investors.
He was born in 1959 and grew up in Tokyo. He achieved a Bachelor of Commerce Science degree from Hitotsubashi University. He joined MC in 1983, since then he has spent his majority of career in power plant business in Asia, especially in ASEAN countries.
His main business field led him to be posted to developing countries, and his first & second overseas assignment was in Jakarta, Indonesia (1991-1998, 2007-2012) for 14 years in total, which is one of the largest emerging markets for infrastructure business in ASEAN countries.
And now he is the country head of MC in Myanmar, where MC highly expects to be full of business opportunities and regarded as one of the strategic countries. Fully utilizing his experience and business knowledge in emerging countries, the size of MC Yangon Branch and MC’s business in Myanmar expanded drastically. This makes MC to be regarded as one of the most well-known Japanese companies in the country.
Outside MC, he is now the director of Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yangon, and playing a significant role to enhance Japanese companies’ business environment in Myanmar.
