BIOGRAPHY
After 26 years of experience in the Air Force as an instructor pilot, Tin MaungHtun was assigned to the civilian air sector as managing director of Myanmar Airways, a state-owned domestic airline.
In 2007, he was appointed chairman of Myanmar Airways International (MAI), which flies international routes. He took responsibility for directing and developing market and product studies and for providing support in several areas related to the airline business.
Tin Maung Htun retired from servicein 2012 and began working as an executive patron of Air KBZ Ltd., a new private domestic airline. He oversees strategic programs and has established key operations functions in order to develop a long-term sustainable vision for the airline.
He is also the leader of the KBZ Aviation Development Leading Committee, with responsibilities for product strategies, market analysis and forecasts, technical sales support, industry intelligence, and promotional strategy.
On June 16, 2014, he was appointed chairman of Myanmar Airways International (MAI), which is fully owned by KBZ Group.
He has frequently spoken at and participated in panel talks at ASEAN, Aviation Outlook Asia, airline industry, and Myanmar tourism conferences and seminars.
Through his experience in the aviation and airline industries, he is an expertin product, network, and fleet planning; economic analysis; and business planning.
Tin Maung Htun graduated from the Defense Services Academy in 1976 with a bachelor of science degree.
